Bought one when it was $99 and now I bought one when it's $50 but I had it delivered to store. Home Depot will not price match seasonal discounts, but I will go to the store pick up the $50 item of this then grab my old order and return the $99 one and save myself 50 bucks. Lolol

I talked to somebody on the phone two people on the phone and then I did an SMS chat to document it they said because that's the ruleHere is the sms message Ok this item would not be eligible for price matching because it is a seasonal item and the sale is considered a closeout sale.To get this for the price you're seeing now, you'd want to create a new order and perhaps return this one if you no longer need it.

I called in and spoke with two and maybe I even chatted with Anne, but I did not ask their name, but I chatted with one person as well on their website. The fun part is I'm gonna go to the desk pick it up with this order number 10 seconds later pull up a different order number and return it hahah

I can add that there is a Reddit page for Home Depot employees and managers and I found a post from two years ago on this topic and they pretty much said their company is taking crazy pills and there were some managers that said for my store if it's $50 or less the Customer Service person at the counter that you're dealing with face-to-face will do. We'll give them the money back then and there. Especially if there's like a chose 500 online available. If it's over $50 just call the manager and he will do it.

So the logic you are presenting is done by some store or individual store managers in a face-to-face level

Same exact thing happened to me with Lowe's and they wouldn't do a price adjustment when their holiday items dropped to 75% off.

Long time retail person here, my guess is the seasonal discount is covered by corporate, ie the coupon dollar reimbursement comes from home depotbitself. To manually adjust your order the store itself is probably taking the dollar loss with no compensation. A 50 dollar adjustment will show up on the compliance reports, at my company it surely does, and the answer of customer satisfaction won't fly. I as a manager am responsible fornthat inventory loss, however i would let you return and rebuy with just your receipt and not make another order at all. Is that more or less convenient? Not sure, but I would get my coupon credit and you would get your discount and item, without a crazy fuss, you would have to be in store with the receipt, but it sounds like you're going back to the store anyway.

Did not have a choice and are you suggesting I should call the store? . I talked to three different peoples and they told me the only way I could do. It was to get another order get another item FedEx to my house and or deliver to the store and then return one of the items so I had to physically have two items in my hand.

Thank you for your explanation as a long time retail shopper. Everything you explained is something I assume that would happen that this is an edge case versus a savings of two dollars and I bought it like 36 hours ago.

We returned ours last night because I knew it would be 75% today or tomorrow.

My gf is pretty good at getting the store and cs at HD to price match things. She got the employee to price adjust Goofy at 50% off yesterday. I didn't have the nerve to let her wait til today for 75% off.

Showed no pick-up option at my local store. But was in there and they had about 8 or so sitting there, with a few more held at CS. Cancelled my delivery order and grabbed one. It was about the only XMas thing left besides some lights, projectors, and a few inflatables. Vernon Hills, IL.

I had no issue getting a price adjustment for the Storm Trooper decoration.

EDIT: I just requested a price match via their live chat on the website.
