I've owned the 11 cup for over a decade. I've beat the shit out of it.

The 14 cup has a 95 watt more powerful motor (720 vs 625) and a better warranty on the motor.

I have this exact item. Bought about 10 years ago. The plastic parts, including the bowl, all eventually had to be replaced. The motor is still working like new. Very powerful.

the one thing i hate is carrots with a kitchen knife, that is... julienning them. can a food processor do strands or it just shreds into little 1/4" bits?

There is a julienne disk. Can't recall if it comes with it or not. It doesn't make long strips but longer than 1/4". Maybe you just want a handheld julienne peeler like a Kiwi Pro for <$10
