I still have 6 more months left on my subscription in account A so don't want to cancel it. I want to use Google Play balance from Account A to subscribe new plan for Account B. Can't seem to find a way to do this. Anyone know?

If you cancel the current subscription you'll get a refund for the remaining months

Oh really? Are you sure? It was a 100GB annual plan, not monthly.

I cancelled my annual plan and had a button "ask for a partial refund" after that

Are you in the US? Did you actually get a partial refund?

Yes, it took about 2 - 3 hours, but I did it. And yes, I'm in the US with a US Google account.
This may be a YMMV situation, so I'll walk back my earlier suggestion to cancel your current subscription.

Not seeing the discount at the site and the cancel option is incredibly inconvenient relative to M365 deals which just use your existing subscription and push the renewal out into the future.

That's because this is targeted to new subscribers only. They're not really looking to give current subscribers a discount. The cancel trick is a work around, so the trade off of inconvenience is being able to get the promo rate that isn't meant for you (I mean "us" because I'm also not sure if I want to cancel to get this rate)

Just signed up as a new subscriber around Thanksgiving for $17 via the Google One App for the 100GB plan. Purpose was to share the 100GB among family members as our Google Photos libraries are growing past 15GB

There was a PayPal $10 back promotion, so I was able to get that.

$10 outright would have been great.

A shame that our emails from the mid-2000s are starting to run out of storage. My inbox is 90% full.

Verizon offers the 2TB AI package for $10/mo. Not as good, but not bad.

What happens to our data in the interim if we cancel and then try to re-up?

Also check your paypal offer "earn 1000 points on your first google play purchase of 5+" , so that way it will be free google one 100gb data for 1year.
