This LOQ looks like a strong budget gaming laptop, with the RTX 5050 and i5-13450HX giving it enough headroom for current games and everyday use. The 17.3 inch IPS display is described as sharp and smooth, and the machine has been running games without issues. The unusual 12GB DDR5 memory gets attention because it is a nonstandard capacity, but it appears to be a real configuration and the system is expandable to 32GB. The main concern is value around that odd RAM setup and possible upgrade cost, making it a practical pick if the base specs fit your needs.
Gamers wanting a budget RTX 5050 laptop, because it has handled modern games smoothly with zero issues and the screen looks great.
Yes. 12GB DDR5 is a real laptop capacity, and this LOQ listing appears to use a genuine 12GB module rather than a typo. The practical concern is that 12GB is still an unusual size, so future upgrades may be less straightforward than with 8GB or 16GB.
It can reportedly be expanded to 32GB. That matters because the stock 12GB is workable, but 32GB DDR5 costs more and may be the better long-term option if you plan to keep the laptop for gaming or heavier multitasking.
It has been reported to run games smoothly with no issues, including newer titles like Assassin's Creed Shadows. The LCD screen is also described as having great picture quality, which makes the overall package look strong for the price.
This is basically the laptop I got a few weeks ago...but mine had 16gb of ram and 1tb storage.
I went ahead and upgraded to 32gb. The thing has had zero issues with the games I play. Newest type of game would be Assassin's Creed Shadows.
I think I paid about $100 more. Was a heck of a deal.
Where did 12 gigs of ram come from I've never seen that
Most likely 8GB soldered and one slot open that they filled with a paltry 4GB stick is my guess.
My mistake. Review on B&H says it has 2 memory slots and they filled one slot with a 12GB DDR5. It also looks like Crucial is the only maker of these 12GB sticks. Since Crucial is not selling to consumers anymore, these sticks will be overpriced in no time.

You haven't been paying attention if you haven't seen laptops with 12 GB before, but it's usually something like soldered + SODIMM.
Yeah, I've seen 12Gb in laptops since DDR4 days. Back then, what you said about 8+4 would have been right, but nowadays DDR5 seems to be able to come just about any capacity. Plus, my understanding is that a single stick of DDR5 can be Dual-Channel.

Shoppers who can live with 12GB DDR5, because that capacity is usable on a dGPU laptop and is a real non-standard module size.
Laptop upgraders planning to add memory later, because it is expandable to 32GB and has been upgraded successfully for heavier games.
Buyers who want standard memory configurations, because the 12GB RAM setup is unusual and can feel like a cost-cutting compromise.
People expecting a premium-feeling laptop, because the 12GB configuration and overall build are described as a cheap compromise.
