I don't know how you can get more average than running a web browser without issues. I can even run x86 apps. Haven't had issues.

mandatory Windows on ARM warning:
despite what multiple shills will claim here, the Windows on ARM experience is absolutely terrible which is the reason why there are so many deals for all of these Snapdragon Windows laptops every single day.

The one I got seems fine. Plays Open RCT2 and VS Code and my design tools and web browsers and outdated Sound Blaster software.

yeah, using this as a glorified tablet with a web browser and a handful of apps that are compatible really doesn't make Windows on ARM usable for the average user.

Windows on ARM is an absolute mess riddled with incompatibility issues, which is the reason why there are sales on these Snapdragon Windows-based machines every single day.

Man, this looked like a great opportunity to get in on the WoA experience for cheap, but holy shit that display is hot garbage. If you've never had a chance to test drive a display that only does 45% of the NTSC color gamut, do yourself a favor and avoid this thing.

Bought a Galaxy Book 4 Edge a year ago which does Windows on ARM and after a few minor tweaks, it's been a great laptop other than Samsung's screen cracking issue. I don't have any issues running x86 programs along with ARM. I guess it depends on what you're using it for, but in my experience and daily usage, I haven't had any issues with Windows on ARM.

Bestbuy specification say 'No backlight' for keyboard. If that's important to you, double check before buying. I bought a Samsung Galaxy Book4 snapdragon without a backlit keyboard and resent it now. Otherwise arm has been working fine for my needs fwiw.

ASUS page shows backlit in the specs.

I might trade in intel gen 12 xps 13" $250 and get this for around $125 put the door with taxes The machine would be much faster but screen does suck at 300nits.

For the most part these also run x86 and x64 apps just fine. This isn't the previous gen WoA, they now have a translation layer that works well to allow compatibility with non-ARM apps.

The next gen Snapdragon chips have been announced and we will be seeing devices based on them at the big shows starting in January, so they're trying to move older inventory.

Also, FWIW, Nvidia will be launching a new N1X chip for WoA devices in Q1 of 2026 as well. It's a growing market for people who want productivity devices with long battery life. There's still going to be a long while before they are in gaming laptops though.

Despite what paid Intel shills like PinchingPennies tells you, listen to people who actually own them rather than ignorant propaganda.
