If it is thermal that activates it, the laminator could turn the whole thing black if you use Heat

Don't know if this is regional but there's also a coupon that will knock it down to $36.17. OTOH, if you're looking for long term value, the white camera with 10 rolls bundle (basically the white camera with included roll + 9 roll refill) is available for $49.99 which is a better bargain. However, if you prefer the look of the yellow camera, the 9-roll refill is available separately for $20 so buying the refill with the yellow camera will be $6.17 more than the white camera bundle.

Is this basically like a receipt printer that prints the picture? And does that mean that over time it fades like a receipt?

if you can print documents on it, that would be kind of interesting. being able to print out something to stick in my wallet after I laminated it would be awesome if it didn't fade.

That is what I was thinking it might be good for. In for one to try.

Comments say it is a thermal printer so it will fade over time. There are many instant print kids cameras on Amazon with more features than this. I can't speak for print quality, but if you dont need the Bluetooth features, you might look elsewhere.

I own this. The print quality is amazing when using the Bluetooth option, best of a thermal printer out there. When using the built in camera the print quality is okay, pretty terrible contrast and low light performance.

The app is so bad. Super annoying to use, slow. Can't print to it without the app.

Overall I love this camera. Use your iPhone and you can make Amazing stickers, great for scrap booking or graffiti

The print quality is top notch, the kids cameras are trash in comparison

The printer rolls can also be reloaded with generic 2x3 thermal printer sticker paper. Manually by hand, but you can get 300 for $8 generic ones to make it even cheaper

PSA: thermal prints contain 250 to 1000 times more BPA than the lining of canned foods. Do you really want your kids handling hormone -disrupting chemicals? Your call.

Based on multiple YouTube videos print quality seems to vary quite a bit based on printing from app vs the camera

That's not relevant to this product. Per Kodak "Made with BPA-free, medical-grade paper manufactured in Korea"
