I AM an old timer who grew up with TMNT!! Still have all 3 NES games + a myriad of apparel, posters, etc. That's why I was intrigued!Maybe it's just cause the (box) TV screen I played on back in the day was so small, but I don't think they were ever THAT pixelated for me back when I played as a kid. I suppose that nowadays on the occasions that I bust out my old NES and run it on my not-as-old 60" TV, the pixelation is quite extreme, but I'm not a fan of that either!!
