It is absolutely not worth the price anymore.
I had a 2015 and 2017 bottle - paid $300-400 each.. both smelled fantastic and lasted me years (like 5 years with occasional use). One spray was WAY more than enough for the day.
This new stuff is watered down garbage. It smells the same, yes. But the projection and longevity are awful. It takes 3 or 4 sprays to get a good scent, and it's almost gone by the time I get to work (45 minute drive). Cremo lasts longer. Just avoid - the old Aventus is dead.
Community Reviews
Creed Aventus is still prized for its smoky pineapple scent, but the community focus is on whether the current bottle justifies the premium. The current Costco price around $239.99 after rebate is viewed as decent by some, especially versus past prices near $270 or more, and Mont Blanc Explorer, Armaf Club de Nuit Intense Extrait, and Parfums Vintage Emperor Extrait come up as popular alternatives. The main concern is weaker newer batches, with shorter longevity, softer projection, and a scent that no longer matches older bottles as closely. A solid option if you want the name and profile, but the value depends heavily on batch and expectations.
Common Questions (5)
Newer Aventus is reported to have weaker projection and longevity than older bottles. Older batches are described as lasting 8-10+ hours or even 24+ hours on clothes, while newer bottles may need 3-4 sprays and can fade in under an hour.
Armaf Club de Nuit Intense Extrait is a common budget alternative, while Alt Executive is noted for a closer pineapple opening. Parfums Vintage Emperor Extrait and Pineapple Vintage Intense are also recommended for stronger Aventus-style performance, and Mont Blanc Explorer is suggested for a similar "old Aventus" feel that is easier to sample in stores.
Yes, batch variation is a major theme with Aventus. Older years such as 2015-2017 are described as richer and longer-lasting, while current production is said to be weaker and less close to the classic scent profile.
Many shoppers think the current price is only fair to good, not a standout bargain, because they remember lower Costco prices around $170-$200 and earlier purchases around $254.99 or $270. A few still call $239.99 excellent, especially versus today's higher pricing and tariffs.
Yes. The Extrait is described as not harsh, while the EDT is the version called strong and harsh on the opening; the scent is said to smell better as it dries down.

Fragrance is a common allergen so I can understand some people not reacting to it well but that doesn't equal "hazardous".
While we're at it we should probably take a deeper look at dihydrogen monoxide that's been popping up in some products at the supermarket...

It's just a suggestion to do some research because some of this stuff (specifically sold under the Parfum/e rubric may be full of toxins). This is very new research but I'm neither an MD nor a PhD researcher (nor do I play one on TV).
There are researchers that I respect however, and though I can no longer do the organic chemistry metabolite break downs I once could/learned (epidemiology at Yale med), there are some aberrant paths this stuff can take. Basically, we're not treated well by most industries when making money is paramount.
Of course anyone is free to eat "cheese like substances" that come from a pressurized can as well. It's still somewhat of a "free" country. Merry New Year...
