I'm an avid board gamer and highly recommend people consider buying any other board game than monopoly. Even the card game versions of monopoly are cheaper and significantly more fun. Monopoly is still one of my favorite games, but in today's age there are just soo soooo many better games.

Google "Best gateway board games" if you want anything better than monopoly.

There is something about moving pieces around the board, landing in jail, etc... The young ones love it.

What games, in your opinion, are good for 3 adults? I can only manage to consistently get my two brothers to come over, and we like board games, but find that many board games play better with 4+ players.

Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, Pandemic, Azul, and Splendor all work well at three players.

If you want a simulation of real monopoly; you should give someone boardwalk, Park place and $2000 as inheritance starter 🤣

Lots of "Euro" games that do just that. Ticket to Ride, Azul, Splendor, 7 Wonders, Carcassone, Castles of Burgundy, Quacks.

Agreed. Change your Google search to "best gateway euro board games" and you have lots of games with board, pieces, dice, etc.

This. I love Monopoly. We all remember playing it hundreds of times growing up.

But these days, the gameplay of Monopoly is one-dimensional and monotonous when compared to the competition. It's in the category with Sorry and Trouble. LMAO

Monopoly teaches one how to negotiate deals and work with others.

Most board games today are basically solo endeavors. Just trying to beat the competition to a certain objective.
