These 6 foot nylon braided USB C to USB A cables are mainly useful for long overnight charging and low wattage devices like speakers, headphones, tablets, and older phones. The length and slower charging support make them handy with older 5 watt blocks, and the cables are described as still working after years of use. The main caution is seller pricing, since the deal can show higher prices unless the SMALLELectric Store is selected. There is also a report that the cables messed up a charging block, so compatibility is worth checking.

Common Questions (3)

  • The deal can still show as $7, but the price may default to a higher seller price like $12.99 or $17. Scroll down and select the SMALLELectric Store/default seller to get the $7.99 price.

  • Yes. They work with older 5W chargers for overnight charging and are suitable for low-watt devices like speakers, headphones, tablets, Echo devices, and older tablets. Using a higher-watt charger is not wasteful because the device only draws what it needs.

  • They have held up well for long-term use, with reports of packs still working after about 5 years and another set still working after a few years. One comment also notes no breakage across these and the brand's USB-C to USB-C cables.

15W cables for that looooong overnight charging session, even better with an old skool 5W charger. That's how I use these cables if I don't care for charging speeds.
Slower charge is better for battery longevity anyway. Less heat generated.

Still available, just search for the SMALLELectric Store under sellers
Sometimes I forget to check that myself.

Displayed $17 from another seller when I first followed link.

It is still $7.99. Scroll down, pick the seller.

15 W doesn't take that much longer as long as it is in a Quick Charge Port.

These are good for all those low what speakers, headphones, tablets, etc. Using a 20W charger on a Echo device or older tablet is just a waste.

Although true for older battery tech, newer battery tech is not significantly impacted:

Seems to be more about the number of charge cycles now vs charge speed. Example from article:

iPhone 12 slow charging: lost 11.8% battery capacity
iPhone 12 fast charging: lost 12.3% battery capacity
iQOO slow charging: lost 8.8% battery capacity
iQOO fast charging: lost 8.5% battery capacity

Much better for your Li-Ion batteries to charge as slow as possible anyway. Even better to keep the charge in the middle third percentage range (33-66%) as much as you can. Typing this right now on a 6 year old OnePlus 7 Pro still on its original battery, and the AccuBattery app says it still holds 79% of its original capacity because I've been doing that. And I use this phone a LOT.

The charger isn't using the full wattage it's capable of if the device it's charging doesn't draw that much. You're not wasting anything by using a charger capable of high speeds with a low speed device.

Exactly. I have so many low watt chargers laying around for these devices. I did go with the 10 foot cables instead.

That's good to know! I fast charge my less used devices but my phone always charges slow overnight.
