How does this HP compare to Intel (now Asus) NUCs and Dell's micro PCs?
The price looks really good on this one, especially with some additional cb offers

The RAM itself (32GBx1 DDR5-5600 Memory) costs $300 + Tax which I purchased 2 yrs ago at $97.
I was looking for some RAM for a barebone, it's so high now. Crazy!!!! 😁

Bought the 265T for $100 more, worth it. Build is similar to the EliteDesk 800. Keep min mind that CES is coming and these will keep dropping in price as the new Intel chips will be announced, but this s a solid price for the $250 in RAM sitting in this box.

The main difference is that these are using Desktop CPU which you can upgrade whereas NUC uses soldered Mobile Processors. You will get slightly more CPU performance but far poor Graphics as the Desktop Intel comes with cut-down graphics. These are strictly designed for business and industrial usage, much durable and offer a lot of customization options. Port wise, these are slightly better than most NUC style mini PCs.

I'm beyond enraged to see them keep putting these tiny SSDs in expensive computers when you can(could) easily spend one or two hundred to put a more civilized size in. Why not just do it? It's a little more work for me but I had to learn it to deal with this idiocy.

FYI, EPP / Friends and Family pricing is $746 and $773 respectively. Coupon doesn't work on those prices. Ultra 7 265T 32GB RAM is $881, this is the one I bought a week ago at $899.

I ALWAYS opt for the smaller disk, and remove the NVME before first boot and put it away. I'll use my own 2TB or 4TB and when its time to sell this, I'll put the original, unused disk back in so there is zero wipe / reload etc.

That's a much smaller price difference than I would have expected.

I say don't go below 245(T) for Arrow Lake CPUs since you get 4 Xe cores at that level and above, instead of 3 Xe cores here, or 2 Xe cores for the 225(T).
