Good value. I've had this model for close to ten years now. Used it regularly to get cars through obd2 state inspections. The live data is very primitive... but it's somewhat useful.

The cheapest reliable scan tool to have, they say. Ok just bought one and I'm not a bot unlike others out there

What's the cheapest way to be able to reset airbag lights on a Kia for example? (After replacing the clockspring wiring in the steering wheel.)

It's ridiculous that it's a $20 part needing a $600 tool to send a code to a computer. Wish it could be done with a regular old ELM327 and a phone app.

The cheapest way I know is:
  1. identify a friend who has a higher end tablet style OBD2 computer with full reset capabilities.
  2. Bring over a loaded pizza and a 6-pack to their house one weekend.
  3. Casually mention while eating that you have an airbag light that needs reset.
Works 99% of the time.

I go to AutoZone, etc etc. Seldom needed unless you get a clunker.

This one from the same seller claims it can reset SRS (i.e. airbags). I have no idea if it actually works or not.

I think it depends on whether or not your car can have its SRS reset using an OBD device. My 2002 Acura cannot - I have to use a paper clip and have to close the circuit at periodic times when the SRS light comes on (when turning the key to the ON position 1).

Maybe BlueDriver does it.

How can I tell if an OBD reader is capable of telling me the transmission temperature, live? I want to a Tx fluid change and need to know what the temp of the Tx is in order to determine appropriate fill level. Is this?

It can be difficult. Go to their website and see if they list that function. Often their descriptions are vague. Research on a car forum that applies to your model and ask what people use to see those values. I use a Autel MK808 for BMW stuff, also if BMW, ISTA is a great free program to see that data.
