Reminder that a decent single-tower CPU cooler isn't worth more than $22 bucks (that's how much a decent Thermalright cooler--which is probably equal or better than this Cooler Master--is on Amazon).

Yep, there's a megathread[reddit.com] on this in the ASRock subreddit.
Here's one of the update / summary posts (last updated in May 2025) that lists the failure counts as well as the specific boards that failed: https://www.reddit.com/r/ASRock/c..._9800x3ds/

Thanks, repped.
Crazy stuff.
Asrock really took a big, massive shit on their brand with this one.

Looking at that thread: The problem manifests when coupled with 9800X3D only, or some other CPUs as well (aka thread = outdated info)?

That's rough. Glad I dodged a bad board. Bought an Asrock B650e still running smooth with my 5090 and 9800X3D. Had to flash it back in Nov 15 2024 when the new chip first came out and werent many mobos available. Maybe I should update? Or just dont touch the cpu 😅

Loved ASrock's AM4 boards but, will not be touching their AM5 boards until, definite proof of cause for their excessive (catastrophic) failure rate comes out.

melting GPU cables, dying CPUs, high cpu component prices, coil whine, unoptimized AAA titles, live services......
the list goes on and on.
Btw, I have this mobo in one of our mini-itx builds (yes, we have 3 at home) and haven't had any problem, paired with a Ryzen 5 9600X.
