If you don't game then there is no point in DDR 5 you are correct. If you do, however, DDR 5 is quite an upgrade (not to mention you can't even find the best CPU for decent price on AM4 the 5800x3D is inexistent). I'll try to find and link the video with the benchmarks...

be honest with us, WHAT are you doing that you would notice a difference in output with DDR4 vs DDR5? I mean seriously, WHAT would you need it for? I have 64gb of DDR4 in the rig I am using right now and an old ass 580 card, not even Nvidia GPU, but I do not game on this machine and it does all I need it to do most days.

yeah I watched the video, and even they say if its a GPU heavy game the difference is minimal compared DDR4 and DDR5, so I am looking for a new MOBO but it will just be an AMD AM4 because the MOBO I have now the AUDIO ports are dying slowly for some reason

If you're going to be on AM4 platform and live in a decent size city, Facebook marketplace is something worth considering. Yes it's riskier, but much better value, especially in these times.

Thanks for posting this OP !

I noticed it comes with Mcafee Total Protection and I know a lot of folks on here will scoff at it and say "No thank you I'm NOT installing that on my PC" Stick Out Tongue .. for anyone who does however please for the love of pet contact mcafee online via chat (easy to do) and request to have your credit card info removed after installing it, much like norton there are horror stories about mcafee renewing your yearly subscription for insanely high prices and refusing to back down when you confront them about it (I wouldn't even trust just turning off auto renew don't expect them to honor that).. both mcafee and norton will basically force you to submit your credit card info and then both companies are counting on being able to take advantage of that - product will still work without your credit card being on file with them (have gifted mcafee to people before who confirmed this).

This or that tuff gaming one honestly most people are gonna be happy with either. There might be some slight differences between them so always see what features the motherboard has and make sure that's what you're looking for. Because I chose to do air cooling the tuff gaming was plenty good for me. I've had it for 4 years now and it's been real solid. But there might be some things the strix has that the tuf doesn't have. So just see the motherboard specs and see if it ticks all the boxes you're looking for.

some people just feed into the consumerism and have to have the top of the line even if 95% of the population wouldn't notice the difference. Yet people still wonder why they're in debt...

I have this board. If you have front usb c port on your case, this mobo doesn't not have the required port for it. You will need to buy extra pci express board with proper port and yet the cable is 1 inch short connecting to the pci express board. My is nzxt case

I game on both platforms DDR 4 and 5 and frankly can't tell the difference between them. Of course running benchmarks I can because I have a report telling me how much faster DDR 5 is. I have TrueNAS running in a Dell T20 power edge with 32 gb DDR3 ECC RAM...
