I would definitely get this if it had the same acoustic sound+ as the higher models since I don't usually use external speakers but alas that is why they have more expensive models.

So tempted to pull the trigger. Contemplating between this and the Costco Bravia 8 2024 model I think. Any thoughts?
I have this exact model: Seems like a couple notches below the A90J from 2023, which is my absolute favorite dark room TV. This price is amazing too.

Is Geek squad protection worth it for this TV ? This is gonna be my first OLED .
yes 100%

geek squad's policy for dead pixels is by far the best in the industry and oled tech guarantees pixel degradation over time, it's just the nature of the tech although it has improved significantly over the past decade. if you get even a single dead pixel during the warranty period, geek squad sends a technician over, they verify it, and they refund you the price you paid for the tv. there are even people that try to get dead pixels before the warranty period ends because the process is completely hassle free.

I guess I am confused on why you would buy such an old TV when you can get 2025 models for the same price.

There are almost no TVs which are better than this at this price point. This is an all round excellent TV for movies , streaming , gaming, even as a monitor etc

I think the policy actually says 3 dead pixels, but sony quality isn't great anymore so odds are it may pay off. $190 for 5 years is about 20% of cost to get $900 back later.

I bought the crazy BB X93L 85 deal they had last year and ended up getting the Sony insurance which covers damage for 4 years. I would consider that option if you are picking up this TV
