This 1000 watt MSI MPG A1000GS PCIE5 power supply stands out for modern GPU support and strong value at the sale price. It includes two 12V 2x6 connectors, and MSI offers a free legacy adapter or dual 8 pin cable after purchase, which helps with older graphics cards. The unit is also listed as A tier on the SPL list, and the deal may qualify for up to $30 in Steam rebates. The main caution is connector compatibility and a reported case of severe coil whine and dead units. It looks best for newer high end builds that can use the included cabling.
people with an earlier NVIDIA GPU (before RTX 50 series) who need to adapt a 12V-2x6 connector to run their card because commenters say MSI will send an adapter that converts one 12V-2x6 connector into 2 PCIe connectors for earlier GPUs.
building a PC with a newer GPU that uses 12V-2x6 inputs because this PSU is described as having only one PCIe "plugin" via its two 12V-2x6 connectors, so it should be fine if your video card matches that connector style.
buyers who want to redeem MSI's included promotion for extra cabling because the community notes you can redeem a free 16-pin to dual 8-pin adapter cable via MSI's promotion page.
high-end GPU builders targeting an RTX 5090 who want enough wattage to run it because one commenter frames this as the minimum wattage to work, while recommending more (1200W+) for extra headroom under heavy load.
people who need the "proper 8-pin PCI-E connection" without planning for adapters because commenters say this PSU likely won't work with an RTX 2060 variant that requires an 8-pin PCIe connection unless you use an adapter cable.
owners trying to power an RTX 2060 because multiple commenters say a 1000W PSU is overkill for a card that draws under 200W and that ~500W could be enough (with a bit more only for power-hungry CPUs).
buyers who are sensitive to coil whine or want to avoid DOA risk because one commenter reports personal experience with 1 DOA unit and 2 replacements with awful coil whine and chose a different PSU instead.

but you couldn't go back to using an older video card that uses a few PCI-E connectors.Edit: This is wrong, they will actually send you an adapter to turn one of the 12V-2x6 connectors to 2 x PCI-E connectors. See comments below for the link. If I were getting one of these I would get the adapter too, just in case. Note too that it says:
