This 1000 watt MSI MPG A1000GS PCIE5 power supply stands out for modern GPU support and strong value at the sale price. It includes two 12V 2x6 connectors, and MSI offers a free legacy adapter or dual 8 pin cable after purchase, which helps with older graphics cards. The unit is also listed as A tier on the SPL list, and the deal may qualify for up to $30 in Steam rebates. The main caution is connector compatibility and a reported case of severe coil whine and dead units. It looks best for newer high end builds that can use the included cabling.
MSI can provide a 16-pin to dual 8-pin adapter cable through its promotion, which helps with 12V-2x6 to PCIe connectivity needs.
MSI can supply a free legacy connector option after purchase via its website, with delivery reported within five business days.
The PSU includes a 12V-2x6 to dual PCIe adapter path for earlier GPUs than Nvidia RTX 50 series, which can improve compatibility when you need more PCIe plugs.
A 1000W unit can provide extra headroom for high-end GPUs, with guidance suggesting 1200W+ for longer stable power lifespan under heavy load.
Compatibility with an RTX 2060 can require an adapter cable because the PSU may not include the proper 8-pin PCIe connection for every 2060 variant.
The PSU effectively provides only one PCIe output without an adapter, so older GPUs needing multiple PCIe connectors may require the included adapter.
A 1000W PSU can be overkill for an RTX 2060 under 200W, where a 500W option could be sufficient for many builds.
At least one unit reportedly arrived DOA and replacement units reportedly produced awful coil whine, which can be a deal-breaker for some buyers.

Just getting those post numbers up by posting the same comment in EVERY post?
but you couldn't go back to using an older video card that uses a few PCI-E connectors.Edit: This is wrong, they will actually send you an adapter to turn one of the 12V-2x6 connectors to 2 x PCI-E connectors. See comments below for the link. If I were getting one of these I would get the adapter too, just in case. Note too that it says:
I confess I've fallen a bit behind on these PSU connector variations, and was flabbergasted when my new motherboard arrived with 2 more onboard power connections than I've ever seen one need (sometimes I miss the days of a single, 20-pin cable).
