This 1000 watt MSI MPG A1000GS PCIE5 power supply stands out for modern GPU support and strong value at the sale price. It includes two 12V 2x6 connectors, and MSI offers a free legacy adapter or dual 8 pin cable after purchase, which helps with older graphics cards. The unit is also listed as A tier on the SPL list, and the deal may qualify for up to $30 in Steam rebates. The main caution is connector compatibility and a reported case of severe coil whine and dead units. It looks best for newer high end builds that can use the included cabling.

Yes you can, they offer the 'legacy' connector as a free option on their website after purchase. They'll get it to you within 5 business days.
Cool, I didn't know about this. I'll edit my comment.

It's a good PSU, but be aware that this only has 1 PCI-E plugin because it has two 12V-2x6 connectors. If you only use video cards with 12V-2x6 plugins it might be ok, but you couldn't go back to using an older video card that uses a few PCI-E connectors.

Edit: This is wrong, they will actually send you an adapter to turn one of the 12V-2x6 connectors to 2 x PCI-E connectors. See comments below for the link. If I were getting one of these I would get the adapter too, just in case. Note too that it says:
Now you've got me second guessing myself. To be sure, you're saying I wouldn't be able to power an RTX 2060 with this PSU because it doesn't come with the proper 8-pin PCI-E connection (and I can't order a free adapter because it's after 12/31)?

I confess I've fallen a bit behind on these PSU connector variations, and was flabbergasted when my new motherboard arrived with 2 more onboard power connections than I've ever seen one need (sometimes I miss the days of a single, 20-pin cable).

A 1000 watt power supply is overkill to drive a RTX 2060, which draws less than 200 watts. You could get away with a 500 watt power supply. Maybe a little more if your CPU is really power hungry.

It's just what I have for now. The motherboard/CPU/RAM were so expensive that I'll worry about the rest later. Do you know if this PSU is compatible?

I think the question is hard to answer because there are different varieties of 2060 cards. Some use a single 8 pin and others 8+6. Regardless this PSU here isn't going to work without an adapter cable, but adapters are cheap and easy to find regardless of what free adapters you can get.

Would this work (or be recommended for use with) for a RTX 5090?

This would be the minimum for it to work, but it might not last long if you are pushing the GPU hard. I would suggest 1200 watts or more for headroom and stable power lifespan.
