Thanks OP! (and thanks uno335 for the Home Depot price tip)
https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL.../300937332
That's the link to the same price at Home Depot. (NOTE: I believe the Home Depot deal is a "Daily Deal" and that price will end at Home Depot (as long as stock lasts) on Saturday, December 27th, 2025 at midnight))
While I've never owned this set, from everything I have read, this is absolutely the best tool "set" to buy under $100.00. Totally different quality than the Husky or Kobalt sets that go on sale every year for $99.00. Not knocking those, I'm just saying that this Dewalt set is awesome!
I'm sure someone else out there knows, but I don't think this particular Dewalt set has dipped below $100.00 for about 10 years.

EDIT: I found the Project Farm video that covers this exact set from 2 years ago - https://youtu.be/iEsW-eMLSbM?si=b9SN3z4kJ2eGxogc
AND, NEW Project Farm video, ONLY 2 weeks old, that covers the Dewalt 247 piece tool kit. - https://youtu.be/JB7nCJFMhF0?si=tQCWzRdmJJUB47_g
If you aren't yet familiar with Project Farm, that gentleman sets the absolute standard for unbiased review, detail, and just being awesome! shake head

I got this exact set for this exact price at Home Depot years ago and it is worth every penny - solidly built and well made.

Looks like a really good deal! Historical low per ccc. Usual price is 170 though not 290. Good reviews on average as well.

It's a really nice set, the rachets are unusually tight, smaller movements engage the ratchet, while feeling very good in the hand. A+ would snag at this price without question, The case is nice, it weighs a ton though! - go mothball your old half missing sets and get this and keep it pristine.

I agree with your assessment of Project Farms reviews. FYI, they rated this set dead last in the number of passes it takes the ratchet to make one 360-degree rotation within a 30-degree space. Dead last in overall tool performance. The highest amount of ratchet back drag. And the lowest amount of ft. lbs needed for ratchet failure. Maybe that's why it's on sale for such a good price. In all fairness, for some reason, the Dewalt 247-piece kit scored much better. He recommended the Gear Wrench set at more than three times the price. Buy once, cry once.

There are almost no filler pieces in this set and no wasted space in the case. It's just ratchets, sockets and extensions. Another thing I like about sets like this, when you're finished with the job and putting the tools away, you Will notice if you're missing a socket.
Likewise with socket organizers for tool box drawers. That empty space screams at you go back and find it.

Unless something had changed it's a fantastic price. Usually it's $140+

I bought this in 2021 on a Black Friday sale at Fleet Farm for $90. That was an absolute steal - and so is this! This is a fantastic set that has everything most people will need, and the it is extremely high quality. Recommended without hesitation. If you need a socket set, this is THE one to buy.
It was a crazy time then. All the places kept selling out of the kits as fast as the deals were posted. (A lot of folks were chalking it up to the SD effect)
I ended up getting one at FF too, and then they popped up as available at HD again, so got 2 more sets that I gave as gifts. This was all between 23:00 and 3am!

Thanks! I was actually curious what my set was without going to the car to check and it's the 247pc Dewalt you linked. I keep it in my cars and it has survived use+winters/summers for years and no rust on any of the chrome. The screwdriver bits have a bit of rust on the ones I've used a lot. I kept the Allen wrenches in my house, otherwise I image they'd fair the same as the bits did.

I got mine on some amazing deal of it + another tool for $100 years ago plus since I keep it in my car having the wrenches and bits handy is a perk.

If I had to rebuild my car kit today I'd probably go with this wrench set (more complete) and a bag with a screwdriver+ bits and some wrenches.

That being said, the 247 hasn't ever missed a socket that I needed, so maybe that's not so important.

Either way, great set and great price

This set just went out of stock at Home Depot. Let's see how long this deal stays up on Amazon from here.

In for 1. I just got the 204-piece for $138 but I'm going to return it for this. The 12 combination wrenches that I already have outside of this set aren't worth the extra $40.

I have this set. The ratchets aren't great but everything else is good. The 1/2 ratchet selector snapped off when I dropped it. DeWALT replaced. Since then all 3 sizes get stuck and I have the smack then to get the switch to change directions.
