I've been very disappointed with my Eufy camera systems. If I do it over again I'd rather go with a NVR and PoE type solution like Reolink.
Ways I've been disappointed by Eufy and Anker:
- They had a bad security bug where they basically let anyone in the world view your cameras for a while. It was a back door where anyone could view your video. To me it proves incompetence, or malice.
- They allow SD card recording, but the SD card ends up readable only by their camera so you can't pop it in anywhere else to read - you must read it using their app while the card is in the camera. So you are still locked in to allowing their app to read your video through their network, even if you try to record offline, you'll eventually have to let their app access your video.
- No RTSP so you are locked into their system and app forever. You'll always be a second class user to them if you don't pay the subscription.
For a little more you could get a NVR with PoE cameras and not deal with any of that BS. Actually own your own video data.

I've been really happy with these and the broader Eufy camera ecosystem. They have worked well for me, the solar panels are effective, and there is a good experience without needing a subscription. Nice deal!

I switched to Reolink but still have Eufy for the 2 acres of nothing just to watch for animals. LOL...
Reolink is ok, their interface and options isn't as good though.

I've got a Eufy system with 2 of these cameras and a doorbell along with the Homebase. I'm not a fan because it's very inconsistent on what it chooses to call an event and it misidentifies humans and pets regularly. Some of the captures only catch the end of events and I can't tell what happened or who it was. Also the package alert on the doorbell is very sketchy. Sometimes it works and other times won't even capture the delivery person. It's been ok for a cheap entry level system but I recommend looking elsewhere.
I don't live in busy street, so these have been perfect. I use 6 of them and only charge once a year during when sun is covered . If you live on a busy street or backyard I recommend a wired system for 24/7 recording

How do you manage to get WiFi signal for such large property
Damn I bought these recently during BF. FYI I live in Bay Area CA and can't keep these charge in battery saving mode with short vids. Returned and hoping the S340 will do better once they arrive. They are currently on sale for renewed on Amazon for $99

If you don't care about "owning your video", Eufy is still the best bang for your buck. I read some reviews on Reolink and there are complaints about their UI, and the cameras just literally cost more. I've never paid any subscription and not had any complaints with my Eufy cameras other than the AI being terrible. I assume the newer models may be better, but I'm not spending the money to find out since it's just an animal cam anyways.
