Take some careful measurements when matching this with a door. You'll have some extra space at the ends, plus the door size (when open), plus the opening. I had a 30" opening with a 30" door (it's a closet, don't care about covering completely) and used a 6' pole, which was the right size. 5' was too short.

The description says up to a 40" door, but that might be too big.
