Watching this show for the first time. It's on Roku Channel (which, btw, has far fewer commercials than its competitors).

Anyway, the falloff on this show after the midpoint (or so) of season 2 is steep. I read and found out the head writer got fired around this time because 1) Sorbo said his storylines were "too complex" and 2) some executive suit wanted to direct an episode just cuz, and that head writer flatout told him No.

I tried to like this but it always was a stretch to try and believe the premise of the show.
