I wanted one of these before, then I realised it was cheaper and better to just get a little RSL iA255.1 mini amp (with bluetooth, usb, and 3.5mm input) and pair it with some passive speakers I had lying around. Works really well. (amp for reference: https://rslspeakers.com/products/...1251841302 )
Edit: Amp above is out of stock but there are others I'd recommend like the SMSL SA300 I use for my desktop PC setup.

I picked up the The One II on a super slick deal a couple years ago and it's been my TV speaker / music in the bedroom, love it. I'll swoop one of these up too if I see a super stellar deal.

I never knew these types of mini amplifiers even existed before seeing your post! I've got a pair of powered bookshelf speakers (Klipsch R-15PM) on a secondary TV that are starting to have issues after 5 years of almost daily use. Was going to just buy their newer model (R-50PM) as a replacement, but they're close to $500 with tax. I actually have a set of older Polk S20 passive bookshelf speakers just sitting in a closet whose sound specs are probably on par with the new Klipsch. Do you think one of those little amplifiers would be powerful enough to drive my Polks, and can you recommend any with an HDMI output that I could use to get them to connect with my TV?

Yes. I have the RSL iA255.1 driving some Polk TSX 330T tower speakers and they get plenty loud. Same for the SA300 which powers a pair of Klipsch RP-600M II speakers (previously a pair of Polk TSX 220B).

Thanks for the quick reply. Glad to know either of those should work power wise. However, neither looks to have HDMI inputs. I'd rather connect via HDMI over USB or RCA as the sound is supposedly better that way. Is there another model like these but that has an HDMI input you'd recommend?

i got this speaker but i am returning it. theres either something wrong mine or the connection with the phone makes a very unclear highs. Very weird because with a name like Klipsch i assume it would be better than a cheap sounding speaker. Really hope it is just mine - but I bought an homepod and it is WAY better sounding for me, plus super nice that it can auto turn on on airplay connection

SMSL might have a variant that has HDMI... and there are other options that have them, but I'm not going to do that searching for you lol

If you're just powering some small bookshelf speakers in stereo, you really don't need HDMI. That will only matter when you're adding in 2.1+ channels, atmos, etc.

There is phono input, look at the picture with the rear IO. Not to mention the description says:

TURNTABLE READY: Thanks to included Phono/RCA inputs, the Three Plus can be easily connected to your turntable so your favorite records can spin in style.

The One Plus does not have phono.

So the way this would work - I hook up my old wired speakers to the amp and use my PC as a digital source of music via Bluetooth?

If you're using a PC, you might as well use USB for better audio quality than bluetooth, but yes (unless the PC is separated from your speaker setup).
