Any good? I have never used one of these before. Trying to add tools now that I have a house+garage. Would love feedback on brand and usability of this tool

I love mine. Works like a champ. I did a bunch of chamfering on a ton of pine tongue and groove.

Worked awesome! I highly recommend it.

Router is not a tool for household work. You don't use this tool to repair anything. If you're planning to build a small piece of furniture then this is a must.

I'm very new to woodworking and DIY, and I want to use a white oak board to make some floating shelves with a bracket from e.g. Sheppard or Hovr. Both require a router to use with their templates to fit the brackets. Would this router be adequate for such a task? Should I look for a used plunge router or something instead? I read that they require more setup and skill to use. Other than the shelf, I'd only be using a router for some basic edge work. TIA

These colts are awesome. Bosch makes some of the best, ergonomic tools out there. They last forever!

Those brackets seem like overkill to me when you can have pretty much the same thing using lag bolts and then cut off the heads for a fraction of the cost. There are plenty of videos on youtube using this method. e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4vyabLzttw
If you're dead set on using those brackets you could use this compact router with a flush trim bit like this guy is doing: https://www.tiktok.com/@kiernanwo...0964012330
Good luck.

I'll take a look, thank you! Always looking for ways to save money now that I have a toddler.
