Honestly that was my first thought too. This probably would do a decent job.

This would be notably slower than a the specs Valve suggested. At least on the GPU side.

Does anyone know if the USB4 port supports thunderbolt devices? I don't see the requisite silk-screened lighting bolt so I'm worried it doesn't.

If it doesn't say it explicitly, it doesn't - Thunderbolt requires licensing from Intel and their IC. However some thunderbolt devices also support USB4, though not common

The graphics would be significantly slower.

This BF deal was a dead ringer for the Steam Machine: https://slickdeals.net/f/18895747-hp-omen-16l-desktop-ryzen-5-8400f-rx-7600-16gb-ram-512gb-ssd-545-99

I don't see an Oculink port, and without that this is worthless to me. The 780m may work fine on older titles but they're far better options available.

If I wanted to spend $500 on a video card I'd just get a tower. That's not why most people buy mini's like myself.

Speak for yourself. I have 2 mini pc's atm, a GMKtec for my Proxmox/vm server and a Aoostar with specs similar to this unit with an Oculink port! So if I do decide to try newer games at higher resolutions I have the OPTION to do that! It doesn't take a $500 GPU to beat a 780m.

Am I missing something here, it looks as if hardware by itself is worth near the price tag, isn't this a great deal? I am sorry I can't wrap my head around latest processor numbering is this not a powerful enough processor? I guess only downside is that these require expensive M2 storage as opposed to more affordable 2.5 or 3.5 drives.
Is there similar ones that I can get for remote access photo/file and local plex storage?
