They have made it more easy now. You log into your account and in the account details the account number and pin can be viewed. I agree previously it was hard, but not anymore

This company intentionally makes it very difficult to port your number out, but it is possible. They are a huge pain to deal with, but the service itself can be a good deal when on sale. Be warned that after the promotional price expires, the regular price is unreasonably high. I recommend using a privacy.com virtual credit card to ensure that they don't keep charging you if they make it a hassle to cancel.

Lyca Mobile was on T-Mobile, but they've been transitioning to the AT&T network after a legal dispute with T-Mobile, a shift that was supposed to happen around late 2024/early 2025, with new activations stopping on T-Mobile's network in September 2025. Per AI

Does my phone have to be unlocked to use Lyca? I am using a Pixel Fold that wasn't paid off by previous owner on US Mobile. It wouldn't work with Red Pocket GSMA. Wanted to know before I start the port. Thanks.
*Nvm: I looked it up. Device has to be unlocked.

Anyone know how long you get to activate the plan?

I usually buy the 3 months for $15 plan they seem to always have available. It's not always visible on their plans page, but if you click the link from the deal at https://slickdeals.net/f/18880120-8gb-data-unlimited-talk-text-5-mo-for-3-months-at-lyca-mobile-15 it's still available. I absolutely loathe this company, but the price is great.

$49 after 9 months is not good

I chose to jump on this deal today and holy crap. What a horrible website, customer service and port number workflow.

I have ported and changed carries many times over the past 5 years, so I am very familiar and already had my account # and porting security code from my old carrier.
1. Placed the order for the $12 plan. Received PUK and eSIM data.
2. Received a QR code. Add to iphone, it quit on the last activation screen.
3. Apparently you have to file a form https://www.lycamobile.us/en/registration/ - did it, the website shows a pop up with "." and no message (WTF?)
4. You try to chat with their chatbot and ask for an agent and you are waiting an hour (I am still waiting on a chrome tab thats open). After 20 minutes i did get someone at 866-277-3221 but all of they did was to submit the same form i was getting an error.... told me to wait 24 hours.

Not a good start for this company. I can confirm their website absolutely sucks and so does their App on iPhone (2.0 ratings)

Also https://www.lycamobile.us/en/help/portin-status/ doesn't even work. Any number you input here will always return "Congratulations. Your port request is successful"

Whoever designed and built this website should be fired. Also their iOS APP uses European DD/MM/YYYY format which is super annoying.

/rant is over.

Completely agree with porting is easier as of Dec 2025.
Login to Lyca portal is thru OTP. Once you login - you can access Account and PIN.

Also if you find a better deal (say on Ultra), Lyca Customer Service will try to match same deal.
Having that Lyca seem to have lower priority over Ultra / Mint on T-Mobile network.

No, I think they meant the plan switches to 49/month after 9 months at 12.50.

Agree to disagree, I have used Lycamobile for over 6+ years and ported to Verizon in the December. Port out was very easy, login to account, and access pin and account number, provide them to new network, that's it. I would recommend lycamobile, usually if purchased in bundle for 3,6 or 12 months, it's cheaper.

So does it work now? What are the lessons, for somone wanting to port in? Fill out the form before scanning the esim and trying to activate?
