Any feedback on how easy it is to install this thing? It's cheaper than most parts for my current fan that's inoperable.

Light does not appear to be dimmable.

I don't have experience with this specific model, but the ease of installation of the newer fan/lights has been determined by if I already had a fan there (otherwise new boxes and wiring has to be installed), and how high up the fan is (shaking my fist at my ceiling fan in the 20 foot foyer with no way to get to it other than renting a lift for a day). If it is low enough for a regular ladder and is replacing an existing fan, it probably won't be too bad (just make sure your current box can handle the weight, and if you current fan has separate light and fan switches at the wall, unless you go through extra hoops, you will probably lose the use of one of the switches, since they are usually controlled by a single switch + the remote).

One thing I don't like about the newer fans is the lighting...even dimmable and with the color temperature selection, I just don't like the lighting as much as the older ceiling fans with bulbs. The old ones put out better light (even using the LED equivalent bulbs in the socket), and if a bulb went out, it took 30 seconds to replace it...now you are probably going to be buying a new ceiling fan or at least having to remove the entire lighting assembly within the fan...
