or a "kill a watt" meter. You can regularly find them for 10 bucks on Amazon. Heres one with good reviews for less than 10 bucks. https://www.amazon.com/HBN-Electr...14&sr=8-11
I'm not seeing that you can program that to turn on and off at scheduled times.
The kill a watt meters are used to monitor but not schedule energy usage.

I own this unit from the last deal at this price. That deal was listed as refurbished, but I think they sent me a new one. Works like a champ.

I just used code THESOLARLAB for an extra 5% off, this discount works at the time of this post.
Thank you. Code worked for me.

I wish I knew how to easily repair or program these cheap batteries. It is not JUST the product itself but the software. Have bricked cheapies before because they haven't been tested solar charging while using the battery. If sun stops shining and battery is zeroed out, is it totally bricked? Etc etc...... moral of story is try to not 0 the battery or if so, charge immediately to resusitate it.
Since I've owned my unit, I've had one problem. I was using it as a UPS for about 6 months and after I unplugged it after 6 months it was showing 70% charged, it would only charge to 70% no matter how long I left it plugged in and charging. Customer service was very responsive and helpful. They instructed me to continue draining the unit beyond 0% until it the unit errored out, then recharge. It charged back to 100% and I was very pleased. It just had to be recalibrated and this is the recalibration process, so I can attest that draining it to 0% won't hurt the unit. In fact, you might want to intentionally do it once in a while, to help keep it properly calibrated.

That sounds weird. Software should be able to resolve that itself? idk. I am happy that you were able to get resolution. Some companies are not bad and evil lol

I agree, you'd think that the software would be able to recalibrate it on it's own. That would be the most convenient thing, but draining it to 0% then recharging it wasn't a big deal so I'm not complaining.

That's actually quite normal for Lipo4 batteries with battery management systems.
The more you drain to 0% and charge to 100%, the more it knows where empty and full actually are.
You only need to do that occasionally, if you don't normally fully drain and fully recharge the batteries.

That makes sense.

They shouldn't actually zero out before turning off. This is assuming the software is good. The first thing I'd do is zero it and recharge it a few times during the return period.
You're supposed to drain them fully and then charge them fully before first usage. He probably didn't do that.

Anyone know if this has Time of Use modes? Need someone to do energy shaving
Does not have it. The options are very simple. Add a smart plug in front of it. The UPS switch time is < 20ms

Kill a water only measures. It doesn't switch, at least not the version I have.

I know it came w/ a tag that says to do it the first time I got mines but I needed to use it the next day.

Is it okay to "calibrate" it anytime?

I'm really liking my Oupes devices so far. I have a Mega 2 and Mega 1, and I'm using them both as UPS. They have pure sine wave output. I've yanked the power cable a few times and all my switches/routers/etc didn't flinch at all, so I think the advertised 20ms transfer time must be pretty close
