I switched from Fitbit over to one of these at about this price last year. I've been really happy with it. It's not the most awesome fitness watch, nor is it the most incredible smart watch. But it's a solid watch for a decent price that you don't need to charge every day.

If you're doing serious training, this probably won't satisfy you. If you are a hard-core geek that wants to do all kinds of stuff on your watch, it probably won't scratch that itch. But if you're just looking for something that will help you track your sleep, give you some notifications, track activity, it's a good value.

I love the vivoactive series. I'm still rocking my 4! I bought it before the 5 came out for around $150, but it's a different economy out there now. $190 ia not a bad price at all but the 6 has been out for a while and sells for $240.

V5 does not support Garmin Trails. V6 does.

I have had version 3 Music and 4. The battery on the 4 was winding down and I was going to buy the 5 for Christmas. However, I lucked out and was able to buy version 6 for $160 on eBay. It was like new and I am getting nearly two weeks on a battery charge. For me, a senior, who doesn't need a million workout routines, just a basic smartwatch, the Vivoactive series has been great.

Does it have an SOS button or an alert button that is easily accessible? I'm looking for something my 93 year old mom can wear to reach out in an emergency. She lives with us and is rarely alone. Those times we need to do a quick grocery store run, I worry about leaving her.

I switched from an Apple Watch to Vivoactive 5 this year. Some comments.

Pros: ~2 week battery life, continuous blood oxygen monitoring

Cons: doesn't have as many of the iOS level integration. I don't think it has SOS dialing, I can't ping my phone to play a sound like my Apple Watch, can't take calls from the Vivoactive either (switches me to the phone).

The Vivoactive also has to be worn very tight to measure the oxygen level accurately. Not sure if this is improved on the 6. Biggest reason I continue to use it is the battery life and getting sleep data.

You can have it make your phone make a sound. Hold the upper button for a couple of seconds until the menu pops up, scroll down to find my phone, and tap that.
