so tempting, but the kicker is that this model doesn't have MLA which is supposed to help a lot with brightness. The other G3 sizes do but LG didn't include it on the 83" until G4.

Just get G3. Rtings says G3 is very comparable to C5

I'd go with the G3 83" because it comes with the 5 year panel warranty from LG.

Similar brightness, plus G3 has the 5 year panel warranty.

Doesn't that mean the G3's warranty expires in 2028?

Also when you say 5 yr panel warranty, you mean they can replace the panel in 5 years if there's burn in? Is burn in even much of an issue anymore?

The clock for the warranty starts from the date of purchase - not from the date of production.

Yup. I was going to chime in with the same info. So those comparing this to the C5, the 83" C5 should actually be brighter than this 83" G3. I'm just not sure by how much.

Trust me. I have. I'm talking specifically about the 83" G3 not being brighter than the C5 because it uses a WOLED panel as opposed to the MLA.
I spent three months researching and reviewing my options on a 83" G3, G4, or G5. Ultimately I went with the G4.

The C series does not have MLA, only the G series had that.

I checked Rtings and CNET, both says 83" panel is different than smaller versions, which were tested.

But CNET mentioning that "The largest size, the 83-inch model, lacks LG's MLA tech so it's not as bright – LG claims it has the same brightness as last year's G2."

According to CNET G3 vs G2: G3 is about 6% brighter than G2 in HDR accurate mode and 19% brighter than SD accurate mode.
