On the fence about getting this for my kids vs. steam deck. This should be better in performance right? TIA!

Reddit says this model is the one that will actively discharge while it is being used and plugged in, in performance mode.

Side note, and I realize it's localized to my experience, picked this up yesterday but my warranty start date was Oct 2025 but still being sold as new. So I'm returning it.

With the actively being discharged battery while gaming and plugged in, I'll look for something else.

there's no comparison in terms of performance.

Reddit >> Reddit says that about all kinds of laptops; they said that about my Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 too (and on here too, IIRC). It works flawlessly, and can fully keep up with charging; I suspect whoever wrote that didn't have a setting clicked correctly.

Warranty >> Apple does the same thing. For them all you do is call them or email them with receipt and it's updated in the system flawlessly in a day or so. I'm sure Acer would do the same.

Just got this at WM for $400. Instabuy at that price; will sell or give away old Ideapad Gaming 3 with 3050Ti. What a deal!

I was a little worried because the post was deleted to that deal on SD. I bought one but it is sold by the seller "Health Care"…?

Yep, same. I'm a little worried about that, but it's Walmart, and it's a credit card, so overall risk is quite low..... we'll see what happens Jan 9-12.
