Best price I've seen on this. I've owned this pack for almost 5 years and it's one of my favorite things I have. Excellent day pack

I've been using my Manta for almost 15 years now. Still perfect. Totally worth it.

Bought one for my wife 10 years ago, same story.

I just bought this as a gift for a family member.

Great day pack on the 24L, but if one is considering utilizing the reservoir, packing thicker layers, gloves, battery bank, food items... during colder months, recommend swinging for the 34L.

From what was explained to me from an REI rep was, they are very similar but the Manta comes with a reservoir and the Stratos does not.

I have manta 26 L from 2 designs ago and current stratos 34L. My manta feels like it hugs my back better and I love the hydration reservoir system and the magnetic cap in my chest strap.
Stratos feels sturdier (heavier too) and it can fit way more stuff than manta beyond the obvious capacity difference. Haven't taken it to backpacking but I would feel confident to take enough stuff for 1-2 nights. It has the side straps to carry my snowshoes, which is important to me.
I use manta for 3 seasons and stratos for winter for dayhiking. I don't use hydration reservoir in the winter, there's a risk that its hose and valve would freeze, even with the blow air back technique, and I don't need to drink as often.

Capacity comparison. 24L vs 34L comparison. 34L has an organization pocket. 34L can be purchased on the official Osprey site (priced lower than Amazon)

Thanks, this is helpful, the pockets on the stratos drove me nuts, so I'll skip this one.

Any thoughts on this relative to the Patagonia black hole day pack that's similar size?
