This unit is too small to do any damage to anything. It's not a commercial version like they use in hotels, apartments.
It will not cure cat urine stench. You'll need to remove carpet and cut out all affected wood below.

Seems the risks are not worth it ...
My laundry room had a musty smell, and I cleaned the washing machine with a Tide packet that left most of the house smelling like chemicals. 30 min in there and it was gone, but it was harder to vent than the car, and I have a whole-house fan.
This is NOT a residential unit. It is very powerful and can damage your lungs if inhaled. However, when used safely, it can kill mold and remove stubborn odors.
