I use a similar setup in my 2016 Wrangler and it's been amazing. I still route audio through the stock usb port but all the controls are through the wireless CarPlay. Bluetooth calls still go through the stock head unit, but again, they show up on the CarPlay screen too.

First of all -- then that's an entertainment device that doesn't need to be dash mounted. Let them use a tablet or phone or laptop or whatever.

Also, let them observe the scenery. Having your head buried in a screen isn't the best way to experience new things. Learn to be OK with being bored. Not everyone needs a dopamine shunt directly into their brainstem.

This looks like it could be a solid add-on to my 2012 Ram, it has the near ancient u-connect screen that you can barely see in the daylight.

In a 2002 Eurovan with cassette deck, I currently use a Bluetooth cassette adapter. My phone connects to the cassette and plays through car speakers. Can I connect this screen to the Bluetooth cassette to play my music?

Interested, but I have a Samsung phone and in the specs it says "For Android 11+. Does not support Samsung, Huawei, or Xiaomi". Wonder what part of it does not support Samsung.

Should be able to, I have a Tesla and something like this one, so once you connect your phone via Bluetooth to this screen, and the system will route the CarPlay via WiFi instead of Bluetooth, and then you pick your cassette adapter from phone Bluetooth, some of these CarPlay screen have option to use own Bluetooth once connected, so it will free up the Bluetooth for you to pic whatever.

These are still technically illegal in most states, right? Giant screens in the front of the car are considered a distraction under the law, unless the manufacturer builds them directly into the dashboard. Has there been a change to the laws on this?
