If you're driving, why do you need Netflix and You-Tube? Focus on driving.

I use a similar setup in my 2016 Wrangler and it's been amazing. I still route audio through the stock usb port but all the controls are through the wireless CarPlay. Bluetooth calls still go through the stock head unit, but again, they show up on the CarPlay screen too.

First of all -- then that's an entertainment device that doesn't need to be dash mounted. Let them use a tablet or phone or laptop or whatever.

Also, let them observe the scenery. Having your head buried in a screen isn't the best way to experience new things. Learn to be OK with being bored. Not everyone needs a dopamine shunt directly into their brainstem.

I believe in California center console gps or screens aren't legal to be mounted. So would be hard to fit this in corner of windshield

I have a different brand's 10.25" version (dimensions: 9.4" x 4.11")...and the specs here are very misleading. This is going to end up being smaller than the 8.7" horizontal measurement the image shows. You might end up returning this one...
