if these are the same everpresent Chinese tongs I'm familiar with, they're not very good; some fail faster than others, but after "stress testing" a failing pair the other night it's pretty clear the only thing holding these tips on is a thin piece of metal joining the arms to the tips. They'll flex a few times (but not too many) before breaking, same as any thin metal with a crease/stress point.
For $7 it's whatever, but don't expect much. My next pair of tongs will probably be bamboo.
