I have this router. I had to stop using it due to frequent disconnections. I have 20+ connected devices. I purchased it new in box. Multiple hard resets and firmware resets later I gave up on it. No issue with unifi gateway and AP now. I would recommend against this router based on my experience.

I have this router, same refurb listing. it works well. The default firmware allows for easy configuration of channels, their width, etc. I use it for virtual desktop and the 6ghz band using 180mhz width channel Open Speed Tests showed 900-1000mbps up and down over local network.

Is that speed over the air or connected ethernet?

I remember people complaining about this router back in 2023/2024 on gaming forums
Probably not a good purchase if you actually like to stay connected

I didn't even know Acer made routers. I would be concerned about long term support and firmware updates to address any vulnerabilities and I guess the frequent disconnects some people in this thread are experiencing. 🤷

Keep in mind little to no updates. Security is a must in today's world online. This isn't it.

There's tons of big names in home networking. Acer shouldn't be one of them. Stick with a company that makes known good hardware and offers long support schedules.

The best tell for good hardware is custom firmware support. There's a reason why Asus routers are highly regarded (AC68U still the OG GOAT); Great hardware AND a huge community for custom firmware (Merlin, DD-WRT, tomato, etc.).

I started with a Linksys WRT54G many years ago, then extended it's lifespan with DD-WRT, and finally got the AC68U which ran flawlessly from 2014 to 2024. I only retired it because it officially stopped receiving security updates. Now I just run OpnSense with an Omada wired mesh. Sure, it was way more expensive, but it's an investment into my home and one I'd gladly do all over again.
