No the optical zoom is 400mm the base is 100mm [digital zoom is 800mm]. The iphone 16 pro telephoto (5x) is a 120mm. So in smartphone land it is ~4-16.5x

This is a monocular first and a camera second. Being that you are probably going to be using it outside it will give you about as good photos as a phone at 100mm but if you need to zoom in you will benefit from the extra range.
