Tempted. I have been using an upper-end phillips automatic model for about 2 years and it has served me well. How are these in comparison?

Luxe Pro (ES701) was $380 (or less, depending on what payment route you took) brand new direct from Ninja just a few weeks ago. $400+ after taxes for a refurbished 601 isn't exactly a slick deal nowadays.

You've got a point, the ones at Starbucks the pucks of the espresso used to fall into a container below the machine

This is an espresso machine....Those get pretty pricey with the good ones being over $1K. If you want just a normal coffee maker then sure thats cheap

I've read mixed reviews, some say it produces good espresso and some say otherwise. There is a little more manual work with the ninja's, so if you don't mind doing that then it seems to be a good machine. The pro offers a built in tamper, hot water spout, and dual walled frother.

I mean you can make drip coffee at home for cheap. You could also get an inexpensive but maybe not great espresso machine, but the more automated you get the more it is going to cost. It's an appliance that should pay for itself in the long run though.

How does the espresso quality compare to a breville?
