I dunno. I've been using a set of these for ten years now and they are still going strong.

This is the brushless compact option for just a bit more: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGI...-n/a-_-n/a

These drills are kind of weak.

$99 kit: "Drill/Driver features a powerful motor, delivering 525 in./lbs. of torque"

$139 kit: "The 18V SubCompact Brushless 1/2 in. drill/driver delivers 500 in./lbs. of torque"

The Milwaukee is 500 also. Have to step up to 18v Fuel to get to 725.

It depends how you use it and what you need it for? I'm a contractor. Some cordless drill flagships are 1200 inch pounds of torque. The numbers vary. The actual tested numbers don't always match up with the manufactures stated numbers. This DeWalt 20V MAX DCD800. Cordless Brushless 1/2 in. Drill Driver Kit with (2) 2.0Ah has 90nm/797 inch pounds. https://slickdeals.net/f/19044277-ymmv-dewalt-20v-max-dcd800d2-cordless-brushless-1-2-in-drill-driver-kit-with-2-2-0ah-batteries-charger-and-bag-84-05?v=1&src=SiteSearch

For the typical DIY these should be adequate. Be sure to register within 90 days of purchase for their Lifetime Service Agreement. If it still says pending, ring them up prior to the 90 days and they should be able to verify on the spot.
The LSA covers the tool, charger AND batteries for life. Just be sure to reregister any items replaced to keep LSA going.

Fyi Ryobi, Ridgid (portable power tools) and Milwaukee are all made by the same company, TTI.

If you are locked into a different brand's kit, perhaps think about getting Rigid batteries and paring it with a Rigid to brand x battery adapter. Easy to find on eBay for about $20. Not having to pay for replacement batteries is a slick deal in the long run.

No they're brushed, but I picked them up and I'm pretty impressed. Ridgid is going to be my go to now, especially considering the lifetime warranty. They definitely feel solid. I jumped on this after I got the subcompact cutoff tool (that one is brushless and awesome).
