Same price on Amazon?

Hard to say for sure, as Lowe's is sloppy giving specs...

For anyone wondering: Made in China.
That is the first and often last question many people have when thinking about buying a vise.

Lowe's specs on the vise linked there state 24 lbs.
Amazon's specs on the vise you linked there state 65 lbs.
This random site I've never heard of before until searching just now states the Model 746 (Amazon item name) and WL9-21500 (Lowe's model #) are the same vise,

Why would one buy this Wilton over the HF Doyle 6 inch? This Wilson's ductile iron tensile strength is 30kpsi, Doyle is 60kpsi. Doyle is also $200: https://www.harborfreight.com/6-i...57738.html

If you're going to buy Chinese anyway, this is the better buy even over the Doyle. https://a.co/d/0xHgyZJ

Same price at acme tools as well…at least for now. It's 8:48pm PST on Wednesday, NYE.

It is made in China, of course. And you likely could get way more vise for your $200.00 on the used market.

However, Wilton is still an amazing brand name and this tool comes with lifetime warranty.

Good luck! 😊 and Happy New Year, Slickers!!

Not familiar with the Forward vise, but seems decent other than the cheesy pipe jaws and seems like it's lightweight. This Yost 865 is very on sale currently, and ends up around $120 shipped. Also Chinese unfortunately, but a solid vise with 65000 psi rating and weighting 45ish+ lbs. I own the 865 DI (discontinued older model made in USA) and I'm very happy with it.

Wilton has been a leader in the vise game for nearly a century and they have a long standing reputation, brand recognition and I have owned Wilton vises for many years. Therefore I personally would go for a Wilton over any Harbor Freight vise even if it were triple the price
