Like new from Amazon for just the cable is $39.99, essentially makes the power brick free. Not a bad price if it truly is genuine.

This is Magsafe 2, which has the magnetic connector permanently attached to the charging brick. This is for older Macbooks (2012-2015/2017ish)

You're thinking of Magsafe 3, which the magnetic connector terminates to USB-C, and plugs into the USB-C charging brick.

https://a.co/d/543O5eI this is a 2 port 100w (or 45+45) for $18

you could probably find other bricks other than what I posted if you want to go fancier or cheaper.

cheaping out on an uncertified USB C - Magsafe cable is not worth risking a $1,000+ laptop IMO.

That's not a concern for me as I'm using them for 2015 MBPs; they are seldomly used & at short intervals.
