This certified refurb Acer Swift Go stands out as a well built 14 inch laptop with a touch IPS display, mostly aluminum construction, and strong specs for the price. The 155H chip, 16GB of RAM, and extra SSD slot make it feel fast and flexible for everyday work, and Linux Mint reportedly works out of the box. The main cautions are recurring refurb quality issues, including dead batteries, smudges, and occasional boot or charger problems, along with fan noise under heavier use. The missing right Ctrl key remapped to Copilot is another keyboard quirk to check. A solid compact option if the unit arrives in good shape.
Common Questions (5)
The 14-inch Swift Go is described as solid, sturdy, and mostly aluminum, with a lid that feels relatively sturdy. It is also reported as heavier and more tank-like than expected, so the build feels substantial rather than ultra-light.
The 155H model can run noticeably louder under load, especially during installs or heavier tasks, but it stays quiet for office work, web browsing, and PDFs. Acer apps may reduce the noise somewhat, and there is an FN+F mode to switch between silence and normal fan behavior.
Several units arrived with a dead battery or would not power on until charged, and one report says the included charger was 65W even though Acer's specs list 100W. A $30 refund was reportedly enough to buy a replacement charger instead of returning the laptop.
No. The memory is soldered to the motherboard, so RAM upgrades are not possible on this model.
Yes. Linux Mint reportedly works out of the box, with the remaining unresolved item being control of the illuminated Swift logo on the touchpad.

226v has fewer threads.. So multi core is slower while single core is faster
