FYI, these (and many others) don't truly compare to the OEM Nintendo version. The Nintendo charging grip has the GL/GR (rear paddles) buttons as well, essentially turning your JoyCons into a budget Switch 2 Pro controller.

Yes, the OEM version is 3x the price, but the rear buttons are a feature that is often overlooked with these grips. If you play games where you are constantly mashing the left stick to sprint, being able to bind that LS button input to a rear button will drastically reduce wear on your left stick.

While I don't have any definitive proof, it's been speculated that left stick movement coupled with mashing LS attributes to stick drift.

Curious... If you still have to tilt the left stick to give direction on where to run, wouldn't it still cause the drift anyway?

Theres some copies of the OEM version that look just like the Nintendo version for under $20 on Amazon . Reviews mention how it's nearly identical

FYI the switch just allows you to map the left stick button to another button if it's an action you don't use as often. So while it's a nice feature, it's not really needed.

That's what I did with BOTW/TOTK-- ZL is an enemy target/direction reset button. I remapped right stick to ZL in-software to decrease wear & not have to use claw grip.

No, this controller isn't compatible with the original Switch 1. The designs for the Switch 1 and Switch 2 are fundamentally different.

FWIW this isn't as comfortable as the one that come with the switch 2. These don't have enough of an angle and is seated pretty low.
Hard to argue for $3 after the BB coupon tho

I just bought one that also has a battery inside, not that much more expensive, but I thought it would be kind of cool to charge the Joy-Cons separately. According to the reviews, the magnet is not as strong as the OEM Nintendo one, though.

Eh, those buttons aren't necessary for a plethora of games. At this price I'll pick one up as an affordable and functional method to charge the Joy-Cins.

Agree but the one that comes with the Switch 2 doesn't do charging. Which is sad that for $450 they couldn't add that and only sell it separately.

I've heard other folks say that, but I've yet to find a 3rd party charging grip with the extra buttons. You wouldn't happen to a have a link to one, would you?
