Sign up for each local store's email. All the store's around me regularly have promo coupons for 50% off any item under $30 (or $15 off anything over $30) they send via email. Ace tends to be about 10~20% higher priced than big box stores so still a good deal especially when you stack deals like this.

Just be careful when you try to use the gift card in a store. A store clerk and a store manager accused me of using a fake Ace Hardware e-gift card. The store clerk/store manager refused to put in the gift card numbers and PIN.

If you buy Stihl power equipment (or anything with MAP pricing or strict MSRP requirements set by the manufacturer) this is a great way to save money as they're usually excluded from any sales or regular offers.

Have had no issues using this same deal from last year. Clerk always has to call over the manager to enter the code, but it's a minor inconvenience.

All (literally 4 stores) of my local stores refuse to take the E-cards, I found out too late. I complained to CS, and they said, "Well, we can't make them take it". But then they also wouldn't convert them to hard cards. So now I have $50 locked to Ace that I can't spend. What a scam.
