Community Reviews

The Fire TV Stick 4K Max stands out for keeping Android based Fire TV OS support, including Developer Mode, Downloader, and sideloading through Apps from Unknown Sources. It also adds Wi Fi 6E and access to Amazon Luna games at no extra charge, which makes it appealing for streaming and casual gaming. The main drawbacks are Amazon's tighter control, with updates blocking third party launchers and reducing customization while the interface fills with ads. Promo pricing also appears account dependent, so the deal may not apply everywhere, making it a practical pick if those limits do not matter.

  • The Fire TV Stick 4K Max 2nd gen can support side-loading by enabling Developer Options and Apps from Unknown Sources.

  • The device can run third-party apps on the Android-based Fire TV OS version 8.1.4.9.

  • The deal can be easier to redeem when an account coupon is available for the $30 promo price.

  • Luna games can be included at no additional charge, which can add value for interested players.

  • Amazon updates can reduce customization by blocking ADB and third-party launchers, forcing use of the Amazon launcher.

  • Some third-party apps can be restricted on Fire TV, which can lead to switching to other devices like ONN.

  • The Fire TV UI can become heavily cluttered with ads, which can hurt day-to-day usability.

  • A promotional code attempt can fail with an error stating the promotional code cannot be applied.

"Amazon keeps updating them," is a bad thing?? Have no idea why I'd want to customize my Fire Stick. Just want to turn it on and have it work like most folks.
The update from Amazon blocks ADB and third-party launchers. You're forced to use the Amazon launcher, which is less customizable and full of ads.
