Yea and that requires energy labor lint collection and a bit of a mess to make. Also requires the purchase of wax. Melting down the wax.
if this was MSRP I'd agree but at this price I'll buy premade.

Rubbing two sticks together works as well, but we all have lives to lead.

Since this is a 48 count, I'm kind of curious. How long does it take you to make 48 of those egg crates?

Wow! Tough crowd!! 😲 Maybe some people like to monkey around making things just for the fun of it. Or maybe he only needs a few, not the jumbo 48 pack.

How about using one of those charcoal lighting chimneys? Cost $15 (they sometimes go on sale for $10), but you'll get more than 48 uses out of if and all it takes is to stuff dry paper in the bottom of it (I use all that junk mail I get). Ready to BBW in 15 minutes! I also use it as the fire starter for my chimney!

I have to agree that a chimney is probably one of the best way to start charcoal for a regular grill.
These Masterbuilt fire starters can be used for any kind of fire starting but they specifically made these for their gravity fed smoker/grills (the last 2 pictures) they are a lot more convenient because they are designed to fit into the slot just below the charcoal grate.

at this price, it may be worth it just to make things easy. In a pinch, I use a crumbled up paper towel, with a few teaspoon of oil, shoved into the slot, letting the thing burn for 5 minutes before I close the ash bucket door and chute lid (and therefore turn on the fan). And it lights the charcoal almost everytime.

Not that great a deal. Get the ones (same) by Nvkrvks Fire Starter squares 192-count for $19.99. 4 times as many for equivalent of $5 for 48-count.
