Since this thread will probably get a lot of views let this be my yearly reminder that when it comes to the desktop/download version, virtually no one needs anything other than Turbotax Deluxe.

TT strongly pushes Premier and Home & Business but the fact is that TT Deluxe can handle every situation that these more expensive versions can. The only exception that I am aware of is the ability to create W2 and 1099 forms for employees in H&B.

Deluxe has everything for all investment types, everything for owners of rental properties, everything for self-employed (1099-NEC/Schedule C filers), everything for those who do itemized deductions.

The higher versions offer more guidance but Deluxe has all the forms required and will still walk you through all of it.

Note that Turbotax Online is completely different, Deluxe Online is purposely limited forcing more complex returns to use the more expenisve Online versions than Deluxe.

Friendly reminder that this now requires Windows 11 and unfortunately will not work on Windows 10.

Or just do freetaxusa and get the same experience on the web for free. I think state is like $15 if you want to do that through them too

Just depends on whether you value Amazon gift card or turbo tax credit (Costco deal).

Realistically, for those paying for state filing, there's probably no difference.

If you have a cash back card at Amazon, in my case, 5% on Amazon, then then it effectively is a little bit cheaper going that route.

As in prior years, you can't use no rush credits on the bundle, so I purchased the software without the bundle as that was greater in savings (free in my case) rather than the $10 GC.
Sadness. Might try to ask an agent to give a credit.

As in prior years, you can't use no rush credits with the bundle. For me it's less expensive to use the no rush credits (free) vs pay and take the $10 GC. Please check your situation and purchase accordingly.

I have $11.50 Amazon digital credit, but it won't apply to this bundle deal. The digital credit applies to the non-bundle one. So I ordered this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FWTS91PP?th=1 instead to save another $1.50, and no need to deal with the gift card.

If you have more than $10 Amazon digital credit and have no other good use for it, you may consider using it to get the non-bundle one.

That time of year again. That time to give the same advice: get a local accountant to do your taxes. Not a firm TT bought with trained robots filling out their templates, but an actual human tax accountant. They'll charge you a few hundred bucks. They will also get you a higher return - more than compensating for what you paid them.

If you work for a company, get a W2, and don't own anything, it is pointless to waste hundreds of dollars. LMAO
