List of states with free state e-file directly on their website [thefinancebuff.com]
(requires transferring data from your tax software to the state website)
You can apply Amazon digital credits to save even more (YMMV). However it only applies to the "normal" listing; NOT the GC offer.

TT strongly pushes Premier and Home & Business but the fact is that TT Deluxe can handle every situation that these more expensive versions can. The only exception that I am aware of is the ability to create W2 and 1099 forms for employees in H&B.
Deluxe has everything for all investment types, everything for owners of rental properties, everything for self-employed (1099-NEC/Schedule C filers), everything for those who do itemized deductions.
The higher versions offer more guidance but Deluxe has all the forms required and will still walk you through all of it.
Note that Turbotax Online is completely different, Deluxe Online is purposely limited forcing more complex returns to use the more expenisve Online versions than Deluxe.

But I haven't seen anyone post that it actually works or not since AMEX has their own affiliate link. Seriously no one has tried this yet?
Best "hidden" deal to get the software (if one has the Fidelity and AMEX offers) unless one has the "free" Premiere online Fidelity offer (which is actually $5 for Deluxe download).

With my 25% discount, Deluxe with Federal & State goes from $70 to $52.50. I have a $20 off Inuit CC deal which would bring it to $32.50 but I have to pay $10 to file my state so the bottom line would be $42.50.

-- However, if you don't want to play the Fidelity/Credit Card game, then based on my past experience, this is the cheapest TurboTax Deluxe is likely to get. There will be cheaper options on HRB (and of course Free Tax USA) but if you are like me and your taxes are sufficiently complicated that you're basically wedded to TurboTax, this is likely the way to do it.
-- Personally, I had more than $45 in no rush shipping credits, so I used that. You can't combine no rush shipping with the gift card, but I'd rather spend $45 in no rush shipping credits than $35 in cash. I just don't have that much other use for no rush shipping credits.

TT keeps track of the state you downloaded once you register, and you cannot change to another unless you pay for another state.
- Click on the link from fidelity that will bring you to the turbotax site. It will bring you into some "online" version that you can ignore
- Go to the home page at https://turbotax.intuit
- This will give all of the other options and you should see the original $70 for Deluxe crossed out and replaced with something else. For my 30% off, it was replaced with $49
- Click "Shop Now" and select the right side one (unless you want auto renew etc) and continue through to checkout.
I did this with an Amex card and should hopefully get the $20 off as credit. Hoping that I can dip into the BoA one (custom cash that should cover online shopping) with the additional state purchase that I need.

With the caveat that I don't have a BoA card so I can't make any guarantees, I do think you should be able to dip into the BoA one, since that will be a separate transaction directly with TurboTax and it should trigger the credit from BoA. In my experience, you don't need the affiliate links in order to get the credit card transactions as long as the transaction is directly with TurboTax and meets the threshold amount.
