One of my kids does Karate (and has for some time). It was suggested by one of her instructors that I get her some martial arts shoes.
After looking online and noting that the Adidas ones look exactly like the ones from the martial arts supply companies, but they had fun colors, I called the local Adidas outlet to ask if they carried any of their Taekwondo shoes at the outlet.
Guy that answered the phone, unprompted, told me that he wanted to make sure I wasn't buying them for Taekwondo. I said "Well I'm getting them for my kid for karate, but can you just tell me if you carry any of them there". Guy kept insisting that I did not want to come get these shoes as they should not be used for any technical execution. We went back and forth 3 times before I finally said "I appreciate your concern, but if I want to buy my kid these shoes, I am just going to buy my kid these shoes! Her instructors can tell me if they won't work out! Can you just tell me if you have size X and these shoes in stock!"

It was strange....never had a sales person try so hard to get me to not come buy something.

Anyway, we've been buying her these shoes for a while now and her black belt test is coming up! Getting some of those new shiny pink ones will be an excellent surprise gift! Thank you for posting!

I have the Adidas Taekwondo shoes with laces (black and also white) and they are amazing. Great ground feel, stabile, pretty light and very nice for spinning on the ball of your foot. Spinning kicks feel perfect and come much easier. Works very well for boxing too but without the ankle support. I also have the Puma Redon martial art inspired no laces shoes (Bungie and Velcro strap) and they are also very good but I do prefer the Adidas. I am a guy. There is a popular Adidas Taekwondo style trend that women wear them out a casual style so they have been popular. I would never wear my Adidas Taekwondo shoe out in the street as I use them only for martial arts.

The keyword is "upto" - they put some obscure item at 60% but otherwise pieces don't look any better than their usual prices.

Yeah, putting 60% off on obscure items but the normal amount off on decent items is not my idea of building consumer trust.

There were a handful of things in there that were actually solid deals. The problem with SD is more the continual pounding of Amazon affiliate items that aren't anywhere near a deal. Here, you've got to work to find what's worthwhile in a mountain of 'priced near MSRP' items, but at least there's something worth buying.
